The month of FRIENDSHIP has begun. Friendship day is celebrated on the first Sunday of August. Indeed it is a wonderful thing to celebrate. Friendship is an important thing in our lives. It is essential for our well being - Physical, Emotional and Spiritual.
Friendship is Fun,
Friendship is Sharing and Helping,
Friendship is Teamwork,
Friendship is Expression,
Friendship is Giving...
Friendship at Ekadaksha with the Morning school children was happiness and energy....Blue house performed dance, Yellow house performed a skit on helping and sharing, Red house performed a team game, Green house performed music with instruments. The children of the school programme and school readiness programme made friendship day cards and bands. They celebrated the 'joy of giving' by giving their gifts to their chosen friends.
Friends make our life a pleasurable and fun journey throughout.
However, there is a question... Why are children with special needs and their parents, sometimes denied this need? We see to all their physical needs, but why do we miss out on this emotional need/. Why do we make it a difficult aspect in their life when it is just normal to have friends? Why can't they choose their own friends - 'normal' or 'special'? Why?
Allow them this RIGHT OF FRIENDSHIP...Let us spread this condition throughout the human race and make the world a better place.

The children who attend remedial classes also celebrated Friendship day at Ekadaksha. They told us what friendship meant to them and tied friendship bands for eachother. They enjoyed playing team games where they were paired up with a set of friends. The first game was 'Who canpick the most balls' and the second was 'Dressing up my friends'. The grand finale was all of them dancing altogether.
