National sports day is celebrated in India on August 29th to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand. On this day the aim is to bring an awareness about the values we learn from sports like discipline, team work, perseverance, sportsman spirit, fitness of the body-mind-spirit. One should make sports as a part of their lives. This day is also dedicated to the nation's sports heroes and champions in order to honour their contribution to the country.
At Ekadaksha we played a Throwball match. The children were divided into their house groups - Red, Blue, Green, Yellow. Two groups played a match each against eachother. The winners of these matches played the Finals. Red house won the Final match on National Sports day.
