Vinayakar Chathurthi festival celebrates the birthday of Lord Ganesha,the god of wisdom and remover of obstacles.Its not only a religious event,but also a social and cultural celebration that brings people together promoting unity and harmony.
At ELC,Ganesha's birthday was celebrated in a grand manner.The teachers welcomed Lord Ganesha with music and installed the idol of Lord Ganesha in the decorated pandal with great enthusiasm.They teachers sang bhajans and all the children participated actively playing along with musical instruments.Since laddoo is a favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha,the children engaged themselves in making laddoos with paper.They colored the papers in laddoo shades - yellow,orange and red,rolled the paper and shaped it to form laddoos.
The children then offered their hand made laddoos to Ganesha,lit diyas, offered flowers and prayed.They also took group pictures with their classmates and teachers in the decorated pandal background.A cartoon movie explaining the "Birth of Lord Ganesha" was played and everyone enjoyed watching the movie.

Sweet kozhukattai,the signature dish made for Lord Ganesha is one of the favorite sweet of our children too. They enjoyed eating the sweet kozhukattai and vadai as part of the Ganesh chathurthi celebration.
On this ausipicious day,lets all pray together to Lord Ganesha to remove obstacles and to grant wisdom,prospertity and success in our lives.
